Well, Annie Hobbs and I have had a few days to rest since Phoenix Fan Fusion and first and foremost a big thank you to everyone who came out! Being our first convention for a fledgling business we really didn’t know what to expect however, even our wildest expectations couldn’t have matched reality.
We had been warned that our position in the 3rd floor vendor hall had the potential to be a flop. In fact, my ten years working for PFF had me slightly worried that this hall would be a ghost town but some changes to the arrangement including movie celeb photos and autographs upstairs the 3rd floor saw continuous and comfortable foot traffic. Annie and I knew we wanted a bright and friendly booth and think we accomplished our goal.
Of course, the rigours of running a booth at a con was not lost on either Annie nor myself and I think we were both thankful for each other’s moral support. No late nights for us, most nights ended in a rush back to the hotel room to relax and the most sleep we can manage. We felt like such little old ladies at our inability to “hang.”
However, that amount of tired was nothing in comparison to the tired we managed to achieve tearing down the booth and lugging it all back to the car (which alas had to be parked much further away than we would have liked. Still, it resulted in one of my favorite photos ever.
All and all the convention was a huge success we met so many wonderful people and we cannot wait for next year! So, if you didn’t make it out to Phoenix Fan Fusion this year and more importantly to the Legendary Loot Drop Booth, be sure to mark it on next years calendar, because much like Arnold- we will be back.0
